Group Chairman & CEO

Mr. Eden Wong

Mr. Wong is the founder and Chairman/CEO of Viipark Financial Group, responsible for its overall strategic management. Viipark is a boutique investment bank that specializes in providing securities brokerage, asset management and corporate finance advisory services for institution, corporates, family offices and high net worth individual investors across Asia. Mr. Wong has over 25 years of experience in the investment banking and asset management industries.

Prior to setting up Viipark, Mr. Wong was the founder and Managing Director of East Park Investment Management Co. Ltd., which was a Hong Kong based independent alternative asset management company that previously managed three different Cayman-incorporated long/short hedge funds focused in the Greater China market.

Prior to setting up East Park in 2010, Mr. Wong was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C in Hong Kong, where he has worked in the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Division and Investment Management Division respectively. Throughout that period, Mr. Wong was involved in providing investment advice and managing discretionary investment portfolios for corporates and high net worth families.

From 1998 to 2006, Mr. Wong was a Director of Credit Research at Credit Suisse First Boston and at ING Barings and an Associate Director of Credit Research at Barclays Capital. Prior to that,  Mr. Wong worked in the Corporate Banking and Capital Markets Divisions of the HSBC Group.

Mr. Wong holds an MBA (with honors) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Laws (with honors) from the University of London. Mr. Wong is also a FCPA (Aust.) and has been called to the English Bar. Since 2013, Mr. Wong has been a member of the CPPCC Chengdu Committee.

Mr. Joseph Tang

Mr. Tang has over 30 years of experience in managing sizeable institutional money with strong performance. He is one of the few seasoned portfolio managers with deep knowledge of both onshore & offshore China equities. Prior to joining Viipark, he was the Investment Director at China Life Franklin Asset Management Co Limited from 2016 to 2017. Mr. Tang managed and expanded the HK China Stock Connect portfolio comprises of onshore institutional clients. The portfolio recorded a strong risk-adjusted performance since its inception, outperforming the relative index and exceeded the target annual absolute return.

Prior to that, he was the Investment Director at Invesco Asia Limited for 9 years, where he was the lead manager of the flagship Invesco PRC Fund and received the Silver Award of 2013 TopGun Investment Mind organized by Brendan Wood International.

Prior to working at Invesco Asia Limited, Mr. Tang held senior positions at various international financial institutions, including Greater China Equity Strategist at Credit Suisse Private Bank, Head of Research at Sun Hung Kai Securities Limited, Head of Research at Yuanta Brokerage Company Limited, Associate Director at BZW Investment Management (HK) Limited and Assistant Director at East Asia Hamon Asset Management Limited.

Mr. Tang holds a Master of Science (Finance) from University of Lancaster, UK and obtained the Qualifying Certificate of the Securities Association of China in 2004.

Mr. Corey Lee

Mr. Lee has over 30 years of experience in securities industry. His expertise covers Asian equities, futures and derivative products. He served as a director and Manager-In-Charge on several securities companies. Mr. Lee is approved by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission as a Responsible Officer for Type 1 regulated activities (dealing in securities). ​

 

Prior to joining Viipark, Mr. Lee worked in South China Financial Holdings Limited, Core Pacific Yamaichi Financial Group Limited, and Phillip Securities Group, where he was responsible for handling trading operations and assisting sales teams. Mr. Lee was involved in several large-scale IPOs services, including underwriting and private placements.

 

Mr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Economics from Carleton University, Canada.

Mr. Suberna Shringla

Mr. Shringla has over 15 years of experience in the corporate finance industry. Prior to joining Viipark, Mr. Shringla has worked with various boutique investment bank. He was the Managing Director of TMT corporate finance for SG Securities, the Head of Business Development for Turner Broadcast International (Asia Pacific) and the Manager of Business Development of Walt Disney International.

 

Mr. Shringla holds a MBA from ENPC Paris and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons) from St. Stephens College, Delhi University majoring in History and Economics.

Group Head of Compliance

Mr. Eric Cheung

Mr. Cheung has over 30 years of experience in the aspects of regulatory and compliance in the Hong Kong financial market and is a well versed professional in markets’ rules, regulations and market operations. Mr. Cheung was a compliance consultant for various clients regarding compliance matters and litigation support since January 2012 to September 2017.

From July 1997 to June 2009, Mr. Cheung was the Head of Market Surveillance and Enforcement Department of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd / The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd. From September 1989 to July 1997, Mr. Cheung was an Investigator of the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Futures Commission.

Mr. Cheung holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wolverhampton and Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy from the University of Manchester. Mr. Cheung is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in England, a full Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a past Panel Member of Professional Conduct Committee (February 2015 - January 2019) and past Panel Member of Securities Regulatory Advisory Panel (February 2017 - January 2018) of the Institute. Mr. Cheung is also a past Inland Revenue Board of Review Panel Member (January 2016 - December 2018).
